Stitch Revival Studio
Stitch Revival Studio, owned by maker Sharlene Young-Bolen, specializes in handknits inspired by locally-produced fibres and vintage needlework designs and traditions, offering quality, one-of-a-kind handknits made with care and a close attention to detail.
Stitch Revival Studio is a one-woman, home-based knitting business in Huron County, Ontario. focusing on knitted bridal ring pillows, baby bonnets, toys, pillows, and herbal sachets all inspired by heirloom patterns, needlework history and naturally sourced fibres and colours.
Stitch Revival Studio knits are inspired by heritage pattern research, bringing back old patterns with natural and modern yarns. As well, the process of knitting has a calming, meditative quality that rejuvenates and empowers creativity. Sharlene primarily works with simple, classic meditative patterns and focuses on smaller products and projects.
Bridal ring pillows & lavender sachets
Sharlene makes knitted bridal ring pillows as well as herbal sachets. Currently, she’s knitting up a variety of ring pillows and lavender sachets in beautifully soft local wool and naturally dyed colours. Sharlene loves working with natural, local fibres and find it gives her a great deal of joy to combine locally grown fibre with the rejuvenating affect of herbal aromatherapy. Aromatherapy is a keen interest and she can attest to the calming quality of lavender. The bridal ring pillows and sachet patterns are all inspired by vintage knitting patterns that she has come across, each ring pillow and sachet uniquely different from the other. If you are searching for that special bridal ring pillow, she’s happy to consider a special order for a certain colour, size, fibre and pattern – just contact her at any time to chat. Email sbolen@stitchrevivalstudio.ca or call 1-519-357-7578.
Home decor items
Sharlene also enjoys making home decor items such as pillows and blankets, inspired by heirloom patterns, and if you have a preferred style or fibre let her know. She gets a creative boost when knitting home items as they are give her more opportunity for playing with design, yarns and colours. Sharlene usually works on a commission basis for such items as blankets and pillows.
